Hi, I’m Kellie founder of KPA Artistry. I am based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire but travel far beyond the Shire if needed. 

 

I specialise in wedding make-up and pride myself on working with anyone who sits in my chair to make them feel like the very best version of themselves. Whether the make-up look is minimal and natural, or the look is bold, fierce, colourful, and full glam. I AM DOWN! 

 

I offer a safe space for all to embrace who they are and what makes them feel most beautiful. I like to say my chair is a place where we are always kind to ourselves. 

 

I have industry experience working for brands such as Urban Decay and MAC Cosmetics, as well as experience within the wedding industry spanning over 12 years now. I’ve had the pleasure of working with so many wonderful clients, at some incredible venues and experiencing some of the most beautiful and heartwarming moments. 

 

This is more than a job to me, it’s become a part of who I am!  

 

What makes you an alternative wedding supplier?
I am happy to say I work within the traditional and alternative wedding spaces. I don’t think I nicely fit perfectly into either side, but do personally identify myself as more alternative than traditional.

What do you do within your business to make it more accessible and inclusive?
I try to use inclusive language where possible, and has updated my wedding booking form to ask for pro nouns as well as asking what a client wants to be referred to e.g. bride, to be wed, etc. I share a range of content I consider inclusive, but could definitely improve this. I am part of the LGBTQ+ community and am outspoken in the pursuit of true equality and rights, especially trans rights. I would like to actively do more!

Best live concert you've ever attended? 

This is so hard! There’s been so many but I’ve probably seen Paramore the most times and it’s always magical. Although when I see TS this summer this may just top it
