What makes you an alternative wedding supplier?

I'm a self-confessed elder emo, and to be honest I try to swerve mainstream design as much as possible. Alternative and goth aesthetic speaks to my heart, as well as anything bold and colourful! If you want something understated and minimal, I'm probably not the designer for you (although as you're looking through the Alt Wedding Fair Directory, I reckon we could be a perfect match!)

What do you do within your business to make it more accessible and inclusive?

As a disabled business owner, accessibility and inclusivity is at the heart of everything I do. Whether you or your guests have needs to be accommodated, I will find a way to do it in a way that stays on theme and beautiful!

Best live concert you've ever attended?

Hands down, My Chemical Romance in 2022. I didn't get to see them before they broke up, 13 year old me would've died. I'm seeing them again at Anfield next year though so my answer might change soon!

Hi! I’m Lucy, a wedding and event designer from Liverpool. I design stationery and decorations for couples who want their wedding to be as special as they are.

My career started as a theatre designer, so I have extensive training and experience in graphic design, carpentry, and especially sewing. I started Submarine Studios when I designed my own wedding and realised how little suppliers catered to alternative aesthetics.

I love design concepts for unique weddings. I can do complete design suites from save the dates to thank you cards, table plans to menus, and even favours and decorations, all co ordinated and on theme for your special day. I take so much pride in curating a visual story. Every couple brings their own vibe and experiences, which makes for a wide variety of beautiful designs!

Designing for alternative weddings is my favourite. The creativity is next level and I get to really make use of my skills. Get in touch, I’d love to work with you!
