Hi I’m Hannah! I’m a multi award winning bridal makeup and hair specialist and I’ve been working in weddings for over decade now …and I absolutely LOVE my job!! My absolute favourite thing is helping brides look and feel like the best version of themselves on their wedding day! Whether that’s through a barely there natural makeup or a full on, ethereal goddess beat, I got you! I love romantic, whimsical hairstyles and if you throw a plait in there I’ll love you forever (ps I’m a bit obsessed with braids)! So if you’ve got this far and like the sound of what I do then why not drop me a message and let me make your wedding day makeup and hair dreams a reality!
What makes you an alternative wedding supplier? I work with a mixture of alternative and traditional but my trad brides are definitely more quirky leaning. I’m relaxed and don’t take myself or what I do too seriously and like to advocate for the brides who are worried that all muas are going to be the blonde “mean girls” we all remember from school. I’m alternative myself (known as that makeup artist with the pink and purple hair by quite a few wedding photographers) but like to make it known I’m open and welcoming to all
What do you do within your business to make it more accessible and inclusive? From the get go of my career 11 years ago I’ve made it part of my mission to be able to cater for for everyone regardless of skin colour. When I did my training I was encouraged to only stock shades for white clients because “poc clients won’t book you because you’re white”. I immediately felt this was wrong and went out of my way to make sure I had a fully inclusive shade range and because of this, one of the first jobs I ever booked was a catwalk where all the models were poc. I’m also a big advocate for makeup is for everyone regardless of gender and make a point of this regularly. Last year I had multiple bookings where grooms wanted makeup and hair doing and were finding it a challenge to get an artist who would take them on (which I just don’t understand). What is your favourite random fun fact? Viggo Mortensen broke his toe filming the Lord of the Rings the Two Towers when the scene called for him to lick a helmet. He yeeted it so effectively he broke a toe and the scream of frustration you hear in the film was actually one of pain 🤣 Really sells the moment though
