IYA! I'm Rosie, and I'm an Alternative, Inclusive and Accessible Wedding Makeup Artist who's been knocking about for going on 7 years now! I specialise in the non traditional, in providing makeup for those who have been told they can't have their makeup a certain way because it's not "wedding appropriate". Well.. what is wedding appropriate?

I do makeup in a way that allows you to feel your best version of yourself - whether that's a huge wing liner sharp or glitter glitz and sparkle or little to no foundation, or soft glamour. Each persons makeup is tailored to their needs, whether that's sensory needs or aesthetics needs.

At this point, I have hundreds of weddings under my belt, and I've seen it all. I bring the vibes on the wedding day to help the get ready process be as stress free and fun as possible, but I also bring my trusty Wedding Saviour kit to help with any last minute hiccups that may arise. Honestly, there's everything in there, from plasters to super glue to screwdrivers!

Being inclusive is a pillar of what Rosie Roberts Beauty stands for. My kit is cruelty free and vegan, and carries a huge range of shades tailored for all skin types, shades, ages and needs. My chair is a safe space, and I work to cultivate a judgement free environment from start to finish.  I will travel here, there and everywhere to do wedding makeup - no matter where you are, I will be your Wedding Makeup Artist.

What makes you an alternative wedding supplier? 

I'm not sure what shouts elder emo/retired scene queen the most, the fact I used to have a fringe so big it was 90% of my hair, the fact I used to wear foundation so white I was referred to as the Phantom of the Opera, or the fact I edited all my pictures with "Rosiee Rawrr xD" for years (pics available on request). But in reality, I'm part of the Alt community myself, and I've been subject to countless upturned noses and being looked down on because of my own style and tastes, but that's what makes me so unique and, me! I help my couples be truly themselves, with their own unique tastes and sense of style shining through in their makeup. And yes - I will talk about all the gigs we're planning to go to this year, and I will find out which musicians defined your upbringing.

What is your favourite random fun fact?

Fun facts are my jam, especially random animal ones. Ever need someone who knows the dumbest animals facts for a pub quiz? I'm ya gal! My current favourite fact, is that a cockerels cock-a-doodle-do is so loud it can deafen itself. To prevent that from happening, they throw their heads back when they shout to close their ears off to reduce the sound!

What do you do within your business to make it more accessible and inclusive?

I try keep accessibility and inclusivity in the forefront of my mind when I'm running my business - and it's hard to list all the things I try and implement at all times. It's a no brainer that I use gender neutral language, and display my pronouns in relevant places, whilst using and respecting others pronouns. We chose my salon location specifically for it's accessibility options, and that we have a lift & permanent ramp access. My kit has a huge range of shades, and I can absolutely provide makeup for all skin tones, types, ages and skin needs. I also understand & respect that having your makeup done, and planning a wedding can be overwhelming in every sense of the word! Sensory breaks are welcomed throughout the makeup process, and I will do my upmost to allow you to feel as comfortable as possible throughout the entire experience!
