What makes you an alternative wedding supplier? 

Hello and welcome to our origin story….we’re a group therapy session for the 15 year old kid who didn’t quite fit in, who picked up that kohl eyeliner pencil one day and never looked back, who kissed that poster of Pete Wentz goodnight every night and who discovered the combined catharsis of feminine rage and Chop Suey at full volume. We’re a melting pot of loud riffs, exceptional musicianship and a team of handpicked beautiful souls who champion women taking up space in an otherwise very male dominated side of the industry. Everyone we bring on board at Not A Faze! Is vetted as a ledge and they just get it, you know? I’m a very lucky girl to work alongside my mates and play songs we all grew up on for our lovely like minded clients. Many of us are artists or play for artists within the alternative scene, (we also play at traditional weddings but between you and us the alt ones are our fave shh). There’s a freedom that comes from being in a room full of people who want to celebrate love and authenticity and with over 10 years of experience we know weddings, but we also know enough to want to do things a bit differently…

What is a defining moment for you within your business?

I think it was one of the early gigs, I'd hopped off the stage and into the crowd to sing 'Break Stuff'. I was looking around at the audience and taking a mental moment to acknowledge the faces of women seeing another woman performing this kind of music, it felt important and it's an ethos the band was built on.
