KALEIDO WEDDINGS

She/They + They/Them

LOCATIONS: Brighton, London + UK
LGBTQ+ Owned
We are Kaleido, a creative duo specialising in inclusive wedding photography and videography that celebrates love in all its forms. We offer photography and videography packages for weddings, as small as one hour and as big as 12 hours depending on our clients’ needs. Equally we design and print wedding albums and offer separate couple shoots.
We advocate a philosophy rooted in love, equality, and the celebration of diversity. We specialize in capturing the unique and authentic stories of weddings, with a dedicated focus on queer and feminist couples. Our commitment extends beyond photography; it's a pledge to stand as supporters of LGBTQIA+ rights, to prioritize love for all, and to be allies of the LGBTQIA+ community.
What makes you an alternative wedding supplier?
As a queer owned business, we primarily work with feminist and LGBTQ+ couples that tend to not follow the traditional route when it comes to planning their big day. We believe through our photographic practice we document important queer centered events that will promote the LGBTQAI+ experience in the hope of more acceptance and celebration of queer joy. Identifying as queer ourselves, we feel different, out of the box and definitely alternative. :)
What do you do within your business to make it more accessible and inclusive?
We are regularly volunteering our time to support LGBTQAI+ charities, queer marginalised clients and other queer focused events. We regularly discuss across our social media about our work within the community such as documenting Trans Pride in Brighton and the importance of visibility and support. Always checking pronouns with our new clients and equally sharing our pronouns is very important and it's part of our getting to know each other stage. Using the right pronouns is crucial to us. Majority of our clients are from the LGBTQIA+ community, we love sharing their stories on our website and social media for more queer joy representation. We always check our clients' pronouns and discuss whether there is anything sensitive we should be aware of about their family dynamics (especially on their wedding day).
What is a defining moment for you within your business?
We never thought we would shoot weddings! A few years ago our friends who loved our candid style asked us to photograph their wedding and so the snowball effect happened. The positive feedback from our first clients, who kindly recommended us to many other couples, led to shooting more and more weddings each year. Today we can proudly say that we have managed to build a great community and work primarily with alternative, feminist and LGBTQ+ couples which has been one of our goals!
