MARLEY AND THE WILDLINGS PHOTOGRAPHY

Eclectic tastes in all things, bouncy brained Jane of all trades. Chronically caffeinated. Lover of deep conversations, and someone who has never been interested in making people fit neatly into perfect boxes.

THEIR DEETS

230701-J&N-46_websize.jpg

Photography has been part of my life since I was a kid, but for me it has never really been about taking pretty pictures. I’m fascinated by people. Their stories, their relationships, the things they’ve survived, the things they’re celebrating, the tiny bits of themselves they don’t always see until somebody else shows them.

I photograph weddings, families, newborns, maternity, couples, individuals, businesses, pets, fantasy creations and plenty of things that don’t fit neatly into a category at all. Traditional, alternative, loud, quiet, wildly creative or beautifully ordinary, I bloody love the lot.

More than anything, I want photography to feel accessible. Neurodivergence, disability, anxiety, camera fear, complicated families, grief, sensory needs, mobility, children who need to MOVE, adults who need time to settle... whatever you bring, it’s not a hoop to jump, it’s a welcome consideration. Boundaries matter. Comfort matters. You never need to perform for me.

My brain might be doing seventeen things at once, but during a shoot I’m watching. Waiting. Chatting. Making ridiculous noises at children. Finding the light. Giving direction when you need it and space when you don’t.

Because whoever you are, and whatever chapter of life you’re in, you deserve photographs too.

What makes you an alternative wedding supplier?

I do a mixture of traditional and unique weddings, and a complete variety of shoots in my other photography types too! I don’t believe there’s one right way to have a wedding, one right way to look, love, dress, move or exist in front of a camera. Every single person is different, and I work around the people in front of me rather than expecting them to fit into a certain way of doing things. Accessibility, boundaries and comfort are a massive part of that. I’m very aware of neurodivergence, different accessibility needs, sensory needs, physical limitations and personal boundaries. Nobody should ever feel they have to be touched, pose a certain way, mask who they are or push through discomfort just to get a photograph. Basically, you do you. However that looks, and I’ll meet you there.

Best live concert you've ever attended?

It’s a tie between Greenday in Manchester, Metallica at Download and the Les Miserables Arena tour with Alfie Boe and Michael Ball! Can’t beat metal or musicals haha!
