THE FIRST ALT WEDDING FAIR // Project House Leeds

We thought it would be fun to have a look back to our first ever Alt Wedding Fair which happened 11th February 2024 at Project House in Leeds! What started as a brief chat in a coffee shop between 3 wedding suppliers (Lily, Katie and Rosie) in August 23 and ended in 35+ alt wedding suppliers, over 400 attendees, many cute dogs and live music and fire performances - we started as we meant to go on.

The fair started with our quiet hour which happens between 11-12pm and has become a staple for the start of our events. This allows attendees to experience the wedding fair in a less stimulating environment, no live music, no performances and reduced numbers through the door.

RIP BAGS!

Once 12pm hit we had a queue of nearly 200 attendees ready to come in and chat all things 'elder emo weddings'!

They were greeted at the door to have their tickets scanned, grab a map of the fair, pick up any extras like a mask, ear plugs or stickers to show their name and pronouns.

Attendees could also pick up their RIP bags here which came jam packed with goodies to help them plan their wedding + exclusive deals and discounts from our suppliers!

We also had performances going on through the day from Calum Whelan Music, Lily Kerbey Music and our fire performers Billie Babydoll and Rae Rae Marie. Not to forget our models walking around in our supplier's wedding dresses so you could see what they looked like on!

The show was a roaring success and we enjoyed it SO much. Your feedback was so valuable to us and even brought a tear to our eyes reading some of the lovely things you had to say after you attended...

"I can’t stress enough how comfortable I felt throughout the day. Every single person I spoke to was friendly and approachable, genuinely wanted to be there and was completely passionate about helping to make your wedding be exactly what you want. It felt so well organised, wasn’t too crowded or busy. A great selection of suppliers. GOOD food! Loved that we could bring our dog along too."

Fancy seeing which wicked alternative wedding suppliers we had join us?! Check them out below...

Such a cool and refreshing concept — the first Alt Wedding Fair at Project House in Leeds really shows how the UK wedding scene is evolving beyond tradition. Creating a space that celebrates alternative styles, inclusivity, and individuality gives couples the freedom to design something that genuinely reflects who they are, rather than following a standard template. With a versatile venue like Project House offering a blank canvas and creative flexibility , the whole event feels dynamic and full of personality. That kind of expressive, immersive atmosphere, sometimes loosely described in different contexts with phrases like hermes casino, really highlights how modern weddings are becoming more about identity, creativity, and shared experience.

I found it really intriguing how the article highlighted the focus on alternative and more personal wedding experiences at the fair, especially with the variety of creative vendors at Project House in Leeds. It got me thinking about how planning such events involves so many small details that can be surprisingly overwhelming—kind of like juggling multiple assignments at once. For someone trying to balance all that planning while studying or working, having guidance, maybe even something like a Healthcare Assignment Helper UK for managing complex tasks, could make a big difference. I wonder if the fair also offered any tips on how couples manage all these choices without feeling stressed out.
