THE SHACK REVOLUTION
The Shack Revolution is a unique, urban, industrial wedding venue in the heart of Hereford. With its rustic exposed brick, original black beams, bold graphic walls, monochrome roof, indoor greenhouse and black metal - there's nowhere else like it.

THE SHACK REVOLUTION
She/Her
LOCATION: Hereford UK
The Shack Revolution is leading the way for alternative wedding venues in Herefordshire and the West Midlands. Not only is the space a satisfying mixture of industrial edge and rustic beauty, it's ethos is rooted in everything we do.
Â
So, what is this magical ethos we so enthusiastically speak of? We completely and authentically encourage every couple that comes through our Shack doors to also be completely authentic to themselves in every way.Â
Â
There's not an idea or concept on this planet you could throw at us that we wouldn't think was f'in cool - because if it's coming from you and makes you smile, it's gonna make us smile too. This isn't lip service either, we will always try to make ideas come to life. Best of all, there's no judgement here. Wanna walk down the aisle to Gojira carrying your beloved French poodle who's sporting a custom leather suit? Um, hell yes. Want to skip the rings and head straight to Blackfriars tattoo studio around the corner? We'll lead the way.Â
Â
As a team, we're all very different but our common bond is our love for couples who embrace their unique personalities and aren't afraid to go against the grain. Let's face it, The Shack Revolution is doing that exact thing - so we relate.

What makes you an alternative wedding supplier?Â
When you look at wedding venues as a whole, we are the definition of alternative in our sector. We're a little bit undone, a bit edgy, imperfect and you're more likely to find a pop punk playlist on at our Open Days over an Ed Sheeran mega mix. We appeal to alternative couples because we have no judgement, we LOVE different and to be honest, we're all a bunch of misfits ourselves. I doubt you're going to find the head of marketing and venue manager at a country manor house doing a Tenacious D duet at their Christmas party. People tend to fall in love with our left of centre approach to pretty much everything.

What do you do within your business to make it more accessible and inclusive?
We are an accessible venue, with modification options to allow everyone to enjoy our space. We use inclusive language, we ask for couples pronouns when planning their wedding and are in the process of rolling this out in all of our contact forms. We offer our venue for the use of LGBTQ+ styled shoots and have hosted/attended Love For All workshops. We donated our sound system at the first ever Hay On Wye Pride. Head of Sales and Marketing is currently engaged and part of the LGBTQ+ community and our wedding bookings co-ordinator is in a queer marriage. There's so many layers to how the team relate to both marginalised and alternative couples.

What is a defining moment for you within your business?
If we're going to blow our own trumpet... We have our 100th wedding coming up. For a venue that opened just before COVID and then had to think of inventive ways to stay open for two years... We're pretty proud of that. And we are showing no signs of slowing down. We have one hell of a busy 2024 and next year is looking even MORE exciting
